For those who suffer with mental illness, a sense of community is central to their recovery. However, faith based communities are often ill-equipped to know how to address the needs of this population.
Nancy offers presentations and workshops for religious communities to help them understand mental illness and how to become a welcoming community for those who suffer with various diagnosis of mental illness. Offering presentations on her book has enabled her to educate religious communities on the importance of religion/spirituality in the lives of those who suffer with mental illness.
Her own religious background and her respectful way of working with various denominations puts her in a unique position to work with people of different faith denominations, helping them to reach out to those who suffer with mental illness.
